Emma Watson for Guillermo del Toro
15 Feb Sources in Comingsoon has recently reported that big-time distributors, Warner Bros. have finally attained Mexican film director Guillermo del Toro for the re-imagining of "Beauty and the Beast" and that 22-year-old rising British star, Emma Watson will be starring as Belle.
The 48-year-old director, best known for his work on "Blade 2", "Pan's Labyrinth" and the "Hellboy" film franchise, has decided to direct and produce the film, joining forces with British writer Andrew Davies, who has written for "The Three Musketeers" and "Bridget Jones' Diary", to provide the screenplay.
Up to date, details on this new "Beauty And The Beast" are still insufficient to be leased to the media, but has been said that Davies will be working from an outline provided by del Toro, and that this it will be a period piece.
Meanwhile del Toro is currently working on "Pacific Rim", which is now in production with a cast that consist of big-name stars such as Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Charlie Day, Rinko Kikuchi, Max Martini, Willem Dafoe, Robert Kazinsky, Clifton Collins Jr., Diego Klattenhoff and Ron Perlman.
