Emma Watson Had a Hard Time with the Pole Dancing Obligations of Her New Movie

Just judging by the trailer for Emma Watson's upcoming film The Bling Ring, she's breaking type. I mean, you'd never see Hermione do this:

The Sofia Coppola-directed Bling Ring has Watson getting wasted, robbing celebrities, oh, and pole dancing, apparently. "I did learn to pole dance for the film, and I have a small pole dancing scene," Watson revealed in her British GQ interview. "It's not a performance for anyone else it's just me messing around with my friends. I took lessons."

The crash course in stripper skills was a far cry from her real life, studying at Oxford University. "I had this surreal experience where I was studying the modernists, writing about Virginia Woolf on Friday night, then driving to London for pole dancing classes on Saturday morning," she said.

But that's not to say she didn't gain an appreciation for pole dancing's degree of difficulty: "I was incredibly ungraceful at first. The upper-body strength and the core strength you need to do it gracefu! lly is crazy. I take my hat off to the women who can do it. You have to be incredibly strong."
