Emma Watson's 'Perks Of Being A Wallflower' changes US release date

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower's US release date has been moved forward.

The drama was originally scheduled to open in cinemas on September 21, but will now open to wide limited release in the US on September 14, reports Deadline.

'The Perks Of Being A Wallflower' still

It is still expected to be released on October 3 in the UK.

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower is a film adaptation of Stephen Chbosky's 1999 novel about a shy high school freshman who becomes friends with two seniors as they encourage him to discover himself.

The cast features Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Ezra Miller, Nina Dobrev and Paul Rudd.

Watson recently denied speculation that she will portray Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie after she was reported to be the "frontrunner" for the role.

"I haven't read the book, I haven't read a script, nothing," Watson said. "There are so many movies you become attached to when I've literally never even received a phone call.

"It was the same way with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - I never even saw a script!"
