Big sunglasses, Herms Birkin bag: Emma Watson has a Hollywood It-girl makeover for her latest film role.

She was recently quoted in an interview as saying: "My problem is that I am a little bit boring. I don't wear designer bags or big sunglasses."
But it looks like Harry Potter star Emma Watson may have to eat her wise words, as she was spotted out and about yesterday in exactly that.

Seen cruising around Beverly Hills with a new glossy dark hairdo, Watson hid behind large dark sunglasses toting the ultimate designer "It" handbag, an Herms Birkin - beloved of high-maintenance types Kim Kardashian and Tamara Ecclestone. Clutching onto a Starbucks frappucino, Emma's LA makeover was complete. Farewell Hermione Granger, hello Nicole Richie.
But never fear Watson fans, our Brit girl hasn't had a personality transplant as the picture may suggest: this particular wardrobe turn is for her latest role in upcoming film The Bling Ring , in which she stars with Kirsten Dunst and singer Gwen Stefani's husband Gavin Rossdale.

Telling the story of a group of fame-obsessed teenagers who rob celebrities' homes, the film is the latest offering from Marie Antoinette and Somewhere director Sofia Coppola, who is w! idely re garded as the epitome of Hollywood cool, confirming Watson's status as bona fide success story post- Harry Potter .
And what of sacrificing her style for the sake of her art? We think toting a Birkin is one sacrifice we'd be willing to make.
