Emma's original 1950s star, says designer
London, Dec 25 : Emma Watson was actually the true fifties starlet on the set of 'My Week With Marilyn', costume designer Jill Taylor has said.
Watson plays the role of Lucy, Eddie Redmayne's love interest and female competition for Marilyn Monroe played by Michelle Williams.
"We got her the day before she filmed, I had her for a couple of hours and we fitted her at Eton School. We were filming there," the Daily Express quoted Taylor as saying.
"All the costumes were vintage nothing was made from scratch for Emma and she was just tiny enough that she could wear these clothes. A lot of them were very tiny - she is an original 1950s star."
"She fits into that time period very well, she's got the look and she really was delightful," he stated.
Jill also asserted that Watson was excited by everything on set and the time period.
"Emma was just thirlled by everything she loved playing with the clothes, trying things and putting on different outfits," Taylor divulged.
"Young girls today have a completely different figure to what it was in the fifties.
"There are some actresses that have got those old fashioned curves, Scarlet Johansson being one of them. We had to work with the clothes to get the effect and figure shape we wanted a lot of the time," he added. (ANI)
