Emma Watson, Justin Bieber have 'Most Influential Haircuts' of 2011

Emma Watson's and Justin Bieber's decision to chop off their floppy locks has earned them top honors.

The two have spurred the "Most Influenti! al Hairc uts" of 2011, according to the Wall Street Journal.

"Hairstylists are being inundated with requests for pixie cuts and the Bieber swish," a message on the newspaper's website said. "The enthusiasm plays out online, where the fastest-rising searches for celebrity haircuts on Google are for Ms. Watson and Mr. Bieber."

Bieber, a 17-year-old pop star, shocked many of his mostly teenage female fans when he debuted a cropped cut that made the cover of trade publication The Hollywood Reporter in February. He had previously sported side-swept bangs that framed his face.

Watson, a 21-year-old British actress, rose to fame as a child star in "Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone," the first "Harry Potter" film that was released in 2001. She played Hermione Granger, a student and witch known for her unruly, long hair, which she later tames with magic in later movies.

In 2010, Watson showed off a new pixie haircut after filming the final two-part "Harry Potter" movie, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," the last of which was released in July of this year.

Watson has in recent years become somewhat of a fashion icon and has appeared in ads for Burberry and cosmetics firm Lancome, which featured her in a commercial for its Tresor Midnight Rose perfume earlier this year (check out a behind-the-scenes video). She is also the face of the company's "Rouge in Love" makeup line, which is set to hit stores in February, according to Nylon magazine.

She received the Style Icon Award at the Elle Style Awards in London in February. In 2010, the actress was also voted Best Dressed British Woman by tops Glamour magazine.
