'Fifty Shades Of Grey' movie to star 'Harry Potter''s Emma Watson?

Emma Watson is being lined up to star in Fifty Shades Of Grey, according to a new report.

The Harry Potter actress is "in preliminary talks" about the movie and is said to be "one of the frontrunners" for the lead role of Anastasia Steele, reports the International Business Times.

The screen rights to Fifty Shades Of Grey - which traces the sexual relationship between college graduate Anastasia Steele and businessman Christian Grey - have been acquired by Universal Pictures and Focus Features. The film is being produced by Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti, who previously worked together on The Social Network.

Casting for the film is a hot topic. Teen stars Lucy Hale and Ashley Benson have previously been linked to the role of Steele, while Lost's Ian Somerhalder and True Blood's Alexander Skarsgrd are said to be in contention to play Grey. Earlier this month (July), Channing Tatum admitted that he is interested in the male lead - but only if he can star alongside his wife Jenna Dewan.

Since being published last year, Fifty Shades Of Grey has become notorious for its explicit sexual content and controversial portrayal of a relationship involving BDSM. The three n! ovels by British author E.L. James have now sold more than 31 million copies worldwide.

Watson, 22, is best known for playing Hermione Granger in eight Harry Potter movies between 2001 and 2011. She will next be seen in the film adaptation of The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, due in September, and is currently shooting biblical epic Noah with Russell Crowe.
