"It was really creepy": Emma Watson screams after stalker confronts her in woods

The actress, 22, was on set in the US when the man tried to hand her a letter. Emma recognised him as a man suspected of stalking her before, an insider said. The source added: The man managed to slip on to the set with some visitors and then approached her. She recognised him from hanging around outside her house and screamed. He took off into the woods and was chased by security and a couple of the tough stunt guys who also happen to be martial arts fighters. They caught up with him in the woods. Police were called and he was removed. It was really creepy. Emma was really shaken up and was given some time to compose herself. The man was warned about trespassing on the set on Long Island, New York state, but was not arrested....

A coming-of-age confessional is a good place for Emma Watson to try out a Hollywood lead for the first time since Harry Potter . Now 22, the beautiful starlet of that globe-gobbling franchise will want to prove to herself as much as everyone else that her career post-Potter will be more Harrison Ford than Mark Hamill . Stephen Chbosky directs this adaptation of his own 1999 source novel, and while it carries some niggling imperfections, he doesn't appear to have been let down by Watson or the rest of the young cast. Logan Lerman takes centre stage as Charlie, who is quiet, bookish and recovering from a friend's suicide. Being a freshman in high school is tough but he gravitates towards howling extrovert Patrick (Ezra Miller) and Patrick's half-sister Sam (Watson). They take Charlie under their wing! , ea sing his awkwardness and opening his eyes to the thrills, spills and bellyaches of early-Nineties adolescence. Emma Watson has confessed that she experienced some "panic" before taking on her first major role since Harry Potter. The actress, who played Hermione Granger in the hit wizard franchise, stars as a US student in new film The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. "A month or two before I was due to go I started having this panic, I was like, 'I've got to do an American accent and I don't know anything about being at an American high school'... so I started freaking out and making these crazy notes and emailing Steve the director at three in the morning going, 'What does this mean?'" she revealed. "It all worked out fine in the end but it was a real stretch for me, and there were parts that really pushed me out of my comfort zone in a big way."
